The first day of my Christmas holiday and I took the opportunity of going to Frankfurt for the day to get a picture of the skyline.
The advantage in December is that is dark early, while people are still in their offices and therefore the skyscrapers have lots of lights turned on. In the summer you would have to wait until much later when everyone had turned their office lights off and gone home.
Even though it was not the best of weather – I had forgotten to take my gloves with me and then I also got absolutely soaked while walking along the banks of the River Main, the view that awaited me on the bridge was worth it all.
For me, Frankfurt has one of the most beautiful skylines in Europe, and I will never get tired of photographing it.
The photo was taken from the bridge right next to the new European Central Bank building.
